KBMusic
Music Community Success

Our Story
KBMusic is the brainchild of music educator Korey Black.

Korey has been a music educator since 2016 servicing the greater central Ohio Community. He earned his bachelor's of music education from Otterbein University (2016) as well as his master's degree in music education from Capital University (2024).

Since 2020, Korey has been working on creating more resources and applicable lessons for his students and other programs to better help fulfill the his approach on music education. His resources are aimed at helping his own students as well as programs who may lack the resources needed to build success. His philosophy on education is that each student has the chance to aspire to be great. It is up to the educator to unlock that potential.

Korey currently serves as the director of bands at Worthingway Middle School in Worthington, OH where he currently services 70 percent of the student body.

In addition to teaching music in the public school setting, Korey maintains a private studio of musicians and is an active musician in the Columbus Jazz scene performing with groups such as The Korey Black Quartet, The Brewtet, as well as subbing with groups such as Largemouth Brass Band and The Rick Brunetto Big Band.
